Watermarx Graphics are specialist letterpress printers. Based in Sydney we do work for Trade, Commercial and direct to the Public.

Watermarx Graphics specialise in foil stamping, embossing, debossing and the ancient art of letterpress printing.

We can letterpress up to an A3+sheet. So we are able to letterpress print business cards, letterpress print wedding stationery and even letterpress print A3 posters.

Our embossing is based on the CLIX DIE SYSTEM and results in world class embossing.

We are located in the Northern beaches of Sydney, we do however service the whole of Australia. Our clients range from High profile corporate companies, high end fashion houses, other trade print houses sourcing our work, to the "bride to be" organising her wedding.

Is one colour letterpress cheaper than 2 colours?

Letterrpess usies PMS colours. Each colour requires a plate so the costs increase per colour and size of the image

How do I supply artwork for letterpress printing?

Supply letterpress files as PDF or EPS files. Ensure fonts are outlined (vector files only) and save image as black. Privide a seperate file for each letterpress plate (colour) and also supply a composite file showing what the job looks like.

What is letterpress printing? Letterpress printing is the oldest method of printing. Over the years, letterpress has been replaced by more conventional, faster and economical means of printing. However, letterpress printing to this day, offers a unique tactile feel and quality that cannot be reproduced with modern day printing techniques. Images are inked onto paper by raised printing plates. The raised surface is inked and pressed into paper. Colours are more intense with letterpress as more ink is transferred to the paper in the process. Watermarx Graphics utilises steel backed photopolymer plates to create our letterpress printing plates and hence our letterpress invitations and letterpress stationery. The plates are exposed to a computer generated negative and washed out in water. This process allows flexibility with design and fonts, allowing us to make plates from most computer generated art work.
